Winter in Winnipeg is long, and not everyone wants to cross the yard in a towel at minus thirty. An indoor sauna puts the heat a few steps from your shower, ready whenever you are.
We build indoor saunas into the space you already have: the basement corner that's been storage for ten years, a spare ensuite, the home gym. Like every sauna we build, each room gets framed, insulated, vapour sealed and clad in cedar, with a heater sized to the room rather than picked off a shelf.

A sauna next to the shower, so cooling off is one step away.
Heat after a workout without leaving the room.
A 4 × 6 ft sauna seats two comfortably.
Possible with board approval. Often a good fit for infrared.
Around 4 × 6 ft
One or two people.
Fits a closet, a basement corner or the end of an ensuite.
Around 5 × 7 ft
Three or four people.
The most common size, with room to lie down on the upper bench.
6 × 8 ft and up
Five or more.
Two tiers of benching, or a glass front that opens onto the room.
We usually build to around 7 ft inside, even in a taller room. Heat rises, and a lower ceiling keeps it where you're sitting.

Indoor builds happen in place, so the work stays in the room and the rest of the house carries on as normal.
We measure the room, check the floor, walls and ceiling, and look at your electrical panel.

Framing, insulation, vapour barrier and cedar, with the mess kept to the room.

Yes, and it's the most common place we build them. Concrete floors work well, and we insulate and vapour seal against the foundation walls so nothing sweats behind the cedar.
Not when it's built properly. A traditional sauna is mostly dry heat with short bursts of steam. The sealed vapour barrier and ventilation keep that moisture inside the sauna and move it out.
Most traditional heaters need their own 240V circuit. Plenty of Winnipeg homes have the capacity, and some older ones need a panel upgrade first. We check during the site visit.
No, a dry sauna doesn't need one. A water-resistant floor like tile or sealed concrete matters more. A drain is a nice extra if the sauna sits next to a shower.
Wiring the heater needs an electrical permit, and framing in a new room can need a building permit. We'll tell you what your build needs and coordinate it with the electrician.
Indoor builds are usually quicker than outdoor ones, with no pad to pour and no weather to work around. You get a schedule with the quote.
